Tour Arts on the North Shore of Staten Island

mikeshane_vanduzerdays

Join Monica Valenzuela, artist and staff member at Council on the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island (COAHSI), this Saturday for a tour of two north shore arts neighborhoods: Tompkinsville and Stapleton. The tour will explore several pop-up galleries, with an opportunity to meet coordinating artists and curators.  A short, one-stop ride on Staten Island Railroad will hop us to delightful Tappen Park, home to historic Edgewater Village Hall, built in 1889. Finally, we’ll stop in for an exhibition and panel discussion about the Land Art Generator Initiative, a design competition for Freshkills Park (the former Fresh Kills Landfill). COAHSI contributes to the naturally-occurring cultural district working group (NOCD-NY), an initiative seeking to strengthen organic, asset-based development in neighborhoods.
$20 / $15 for MAS Members. Register here.
