We are gearing up for “Spacing Out: A Forum on Innovative Uses of Cultural Space“, happening this Wednesday at South Oxford Space, and looking forward to the presentations that will be given on various case studies currently being conducted. Topics to be covered include: public spaces programmed by non-profit organizations; adaptive re-use of buildings; shared space by multiple cultural entities; and the use of construction zones, scaffolding and vacant lots. The Point, Chocolate Factory, and Queens Museum of Art, along with several other community-based arts organizations, will be represented and share from their own practices of urban space usage.
Registration is FULL but for those of you who use Twitter and would like to follow the day’s conversation, track #spaceforum2012 to stay in the loop.
Also, resources from the forum will be made available on this site in the coming weeks, so please stay tuned!
NOCD-NY is proud to host this public forum in collaboration with the Arts & Democracy Project and Urban Bush Women.
