Dance on the Greenway and Arts Engagement Panel in Red Hook!

This Saturday, October 11, come to the Red Hook waterfront for Dance on the Greenway, a site-specific dance festival hosted by Dance Theatre Etcetera. Four diverse choreographers have created site-specific work to be performed at Erie Basin Park, behind IKEA.

Between performances, from 3-4pm, NOCD-NY members will be featured on a panel, Engaged Arts Practices: The Role of Art and Culture in Strengthening Urban Communities.  Panelists will include Danny Peralta, Education Director, The Point CDC; Richard Palacios and Alberto Inamagua, artists from The House of Spoof; Perian Carlson,  Director of Community Arts Development Program  for the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs; Nahisha McCoy, longtime Red Hook resident, writer,artist and activist; and Catherine Green, Founder and Executive Director of ARTs East New York. The panel will be moderated by Caron Atlas, Director of Arts & Democracy.
