POLICY BRIEF: Arts and Culture for a Just and Equitable City

Arts and culture can provide the inspiration, tools, and capacity needed to unify New York City into a more just and equitable city for all. We need to dream big, feel connected, propose bold new ideas, and engage the city in an inclusive transformation. Because cultural change precedes and embodies political change, arts and culture are an essential part of the city’s progressive agenda.

Presented to members of the New York City Council in 2014, this early version of our policy brief continues to evolve.
