How Arts and Culture Can Advance a Neighborhood-Centered Progressive Agenda
An initiative of the Center for Urban Research at the CUNY Graduate Center, Toward a 21st Century City for All convened a diverse network of stakeholders in 2013 to develop an inclusive vision for city policy to help achieve a more just, equal and prosperous New York City in the coming years.
At 21cforall.org, NOCD-NY Director Caron Atas joins other New Yorkers in writing about equity’s impact on different dimensions of city life. In How Arts and Culture Can Advance a Neighborhood-Centered Progressive Agenda, she writes, “Drawing on the ingenuity in our neighborhoods and how their stories and relationships give meaning to our lives will help the city re-imagine itself from the neighborhood up.”
